Account Deletion

How to take your Dharmica account back, and what happens to each piece.
Effective: 19 September 2026 · Version 1.1
Cancelling a paid subscription is a separate step. Deleting your Dharmica account revokes your sign-in, ends your trial, and severs our link to your subscription — but it does not automatically cancel a paid plan at the store. Cancel from Google Play Subscriptions / Apple Subscriptions first if you want to stop further charges. See §6.

1. What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes every piece of data Dharmica holds for you — both on the device and on our servers. Specifically:

LayerWhat is removed
Firebase Authentication (your sign-in) Your email (or Google account id), password hash, uid, and account metadata. The account is permanently revoked; you cannot sign in again.
Trial record (Firestore) The trials/{uid} document holding your trial start time. The trial ends immediately.
RevenueCat linkage Dharmica logs your uid out of RevenueCat so no future entitlement check can resolve against it. The subscription itself (if any) is governed by the store — see §6.
On-device state Install id (rotated), personal profile, conversation history, conversation sessions, retrieval bias, answer cache, bookmarks, app preferences, onboarding state.
Server-side anonymous quota The old install id is gone; the new one has no server-side record. The next cloud request creates a fresh, empty quota counter for it.

Semantic-cache entries are not tied to your account or install id, so they remain on the server until natural expiry. If you want specific entries purged, see §4.

2. The in-app flow

Deleting your account is a single action in the app. You must be signed in.

  1. Open Dharmica. Go to Settings → Privacy.
  2. Tap Delete account. Read the confirmation screen — it lists what will be removed.
  3. Confirm. Firebase requires a recent sign-in to authorise account deletion, so you'll be asked to re-enter your password (or re-confirm via Google).
  4. Once verified, Dharmica logs you out of RevenueCat, deletes the Firebase Authentication account, wipes every on-device category, and rotates the install id. You land on the login screen.
  5. If any step fails partway through, Dharmica still attempts the remaining steps so a temporary network error cannot leave half-deleted state. Failures are surfaced as a banner with a "Retry" button.

The whole flow completes in a few seconds. There is no grace period — once the Firebase deletion succeeds, the account cannot be recovered. Your history and bookmarks are gone for good.

If the deletion succeeds, you receive a confirmation screen summarising what was removed (profile, history, bookmarks, BYOK, install id, account, trial).

3. What survives (and why)

4. If you cannot sign in

If you can no longer sign in — forgotten password, lost access to your Google account, or the device is gone — you can still ask us to delete the account by email. We will need a way to confirm you are the account holder (e.g. the email address you signed up with, the Google account you used, or the install id of a device that was signed in).

  1. Email support@trivartha.com with subject Delete my account. Include the email or Google account you used, and any other details that help us identify the account (install id, sign-in date, a question you remember asking).
  2. We will reply within 7 days with a verification step.
  3. Once verified, we delete the Firebase Authentication record, the trial record, and any quota counters that resolve to the supplied install id. We acknowledge completion within 30 days.

This flow covers account deletion only. To selectively clear device-side data without an active sign-in, see the Data Deletion page.

5. Reinstalling later

If you delete your account and later change your mind:

6. Subscription cancellation

Deleting your Dharmica account does not cancel a paid subscription at Google Play or Apple App Store. The store keeps renewing the plan until you cancel it from your subscription settings.

Cancel from the store before deleting your account if you want to stop charges:

Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge. After cancelling, you keep premium access until the period ends.

If you cancel after deleting your account, the cancellation still works — but it can be harder to find the subscription in the store list because Dharmica no longer recognises you. The store will still cancel it.

Refunds are handled by the stores under their refund policies; Dharmica cannot issue refunds directly.

7. Third-party accounts (BYOK, Google)

Dharmica is connected to two kinds of third-party accounts:

Those providers' own privacy and deletion policies govern what they hold. Dharmica does not control them.
